Certification

Certification helps ensure surgical instruments

are clean, sterile, and well-functioning, and that Sterile Processing (SP) professionals possess the essential skills necessary to manage critical departmental duties safely, effectively, and consistently. Annual renewals of certifications enable SP professionals to stay current of ever-evolving surgical technology, standards and best practices.


Education

Ongoing commitment to knowledge advancement lies at the very heart of every Sterile Processing (SP) professional. Whether you are looking to stay current on industry standards and best practices, brush up on the basics, build a reference library, or sharpen your technical or managerial skills, NJHCSA offers a broad range of textbooks, webinars, podcasts, and other learning opportunities.


The NJHCSA is comprised of a group of HSPA certified Sterile Processing Professionals that are focused on providing guidance and education to other professionals in the state of New Jersey. GET INVOLVED! There are many ways you can contribute. If you would like to be a part of the Association, we are always looking for sterile processing professionals to volunteer for Board positions. The association is also accepting volunteers to help out during our educational seminars.

It is imperative that all Central Service professionals understand and use best 
practices as related to storage, cleaning, sterilization, and/or disinfection of 
instruments and reusable patient care equipment. Our seminars provide these 
professionals with the information needed to enhance their role in playing an 
integral part in safe patient care through best practices.

WHO CAN BENEFIT

Our target audience is healthcare professionals including nurses, technicians, and 
Infection Preventionists who work in Central Service, Operating Rooms, Surgery 
Centers, GI/Endoscopy Centers, Medical/Dental Offices, and Quality/Risk 
Management. We provide Continuing Education credits for nurses, 
CBSPD & IAHCSMM technicians.

The New Jersey Healthcare Central Service Association (NJHCSA)  is the premier association representing healthcare Sterile Processing (SP) professionals in New Jersey.  Because SP professionals are responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, and distributing medical and surgical instrumentation, they are among the most vital contributors to the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care. For more than 30 years, NJHCSA has been providing these professionals with the broadest range of  continuing education offerings available, along with the unsurpassed support that only a full-service membership organization can bring.
